Dr. Jae Cho graduated from the University of British Columbia, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Dr. Cho always strives to make each patient’s dental experience comfortable and stress-free, ensuring they leave with smiles that truly reflect their best oral health. He is committed to providing top-notch oral healthcare to his patients by continually staying updated on the latest advancements in dentistry. This allows Dr. Cho to offer the best treatments to his patients in all aspects of dentistry including restoratives, cosmetic dentistry, crowns, root canals, pediatric dentistry and oral surgery.

Dr. Sasan Hadianfar, General Dentist

Dr. Sasan Hadianfar attended the American University of Science and Technology, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009. He went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia in 2014 and has been practicing dentistry ever since. He stays abreast of the latest technologies and techniques by taking numerous postgraduate classes to further hone his skills.

Dr. Yazdan Tavakoli, General Dentist

Dr. Yazdan Tavakoli earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Sydney, Australia, where he lived and practiced for eight years before returning to his home in British Columbia. A passionate professional, he has completed several postgraduate courses to further his education and better serve his patients.

Dr. Muhammad Ali, General Dentist

Meet Dr Muhammad Ali! Raised in Ontario, Dr Ali obtained his Bachelor of Health Sciences from McMaster University in Hamilton and completed his dental education from the University of Toronto. With a commitment to continuous growth and patient-centered care, Dr. Ali pursued additional training through a one-year general residency program at the Jacobi Medical Center in New York City, where he treated a medically complex and underserved patient population. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Ali embarked on a new adventure. He chose to embrace the serene beauty and captivating nature of British Columbia by relocating to Vancouver.

Dr. Mark Hamanishi, Certified Orthodontic Specialist

Dr. Mark grew up in Surrey and earned his undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences from UBC. He then moved to Boston where he received his DMD from Boston University and then to Pittsburgh where he completed his Orthodontic specialization at the University of Pittsburgh. He enjoyed a 6-year adventure practicing in Calgary, AB before moving back home to BC. After several years approaching Orthodontics from all facets, Dr. Mark has spent the past 5 years focusing his Orthodontic skillset on clear aligner therapy for all ages and he treats hundreds of complex malocclusions each year using Invisalign®. Two years ago, he started his own Invisalign® mentoring company where he uses his expertise to remotely guide general dentists in the treatment of their own patients.

Dr. Mark tries to balance out his nerdiness in the office by trying to play golf (keyword- ‘trying’), running (he’s even run a marathon), and playing soccer (he’s no CR7, but played throughout his childhood and into University).

He has two rambunctious kiddos at home: a daughter obsessed with insects, dinosaurs, and rollerblading, and a son who wants to be just like his big sister, or maybe a superhero. He’s married to his equally nerdy, high school sweetheart who is both a scientist and a high school teacher.

Dr. Amin Shivji, General Dentist

Dr. Amin Shivji was born in Africa and moved to Vancouver in 1973. He graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1989 with a BSc in Biology and entered the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC, graduating in 1993.

He has been practicing general dentistry in Vancouver since 1993 and has taken numerous postgraduate courses in Occlusion, Gum Surgery, Cosmetic and Laser Dentistry. For the last several years, Dr. Shivji has focused on cosmetic dentistry, including Invisalign and dental implants.

Dr. Shivji believes strongly in giving back to the community and has made significant donations to oral cancer research through the BC Cancer Foundation, providing generous donations each year since the beginning of the annual “Evening to Conquer Oral Cancer.” He has also given generously to his alma mater, the UBC Dental School, where he donated the funds for the renovation of two much needed conference rooms.

When he’s not practicing leading edge dental care with patients, Dr. Shivji and his wife Sharon love to travel with their two boys.

Her skills and dedication to efficiency have helped ensure that our patients receive the supportive and compassionate care they want and deserve.

When not overseeing the smooth operation of our practice, Caroline can be found exploring the cultural diversity Vancouver has to offer with family and friends or taking in one of her son’s soccer games.

Her focus is on educating patients about the crucial connection between oral health and overall well-being, and she’s committed to helping each person in her care feel welcome and appreciated from the moment they step through the door.

The proud mom of two beautiful daughters, Ghazal enjoys spending her free time going for walks with her friends and family and working out at her gym.

A native of Burnaby, Cypress started her career as a dental receptionist in 2014. Dedicated to furthering her knowledge and following her passion for dentistry, she graduated from the Canadian Academy of Dental Health and Community Science in 2018.
